The Kalashnikov Concern, a Russian military technology company, presented its Karakurt-R reconnaissance mini drone for the first time on the international stage at IDEX 2025.

The Karakurt-R is a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) drone that has already been deployed in Ukraine to provide the armed forces with quick and discreet surveillance capabilities.

The drone is designed as a personal reconnaissance tool that is easy to deploy. Compact and lightweight, it weighs only 300 grams, making it convenient for soldiers to carry.

Once airborne, it reaches a maximum speed of 25 km/h and has a flight time of 20 minutes, making it ideal for short surveillance missions that require high responsiveness. It operates at altitudes of up to 150 meters and its battery provides a flight range of 2 km.

Its optical system, which allows for reconnaissance missions both day and night, is one of the key features of the Karakurt-R, ensuring continuous surveillance regardless of lighting conditions.
